A New Chapter for Natural Church Development in Canada

Bill Bickle, Christian Schwarz (founder of NCD), and Shane Watson at the NCD International Conference in Norway, June 2026.

Bill Bickle transitions the Canadian national partner role to Shane Watson, while their wider NCD collaboration continues.

We’re pleased to share an important update about NCD in Canada.

After many years of supporting NCD churches and leaders across Canada through Fordelm, Bill Bickle is handing over the role of NCD national partner for Canada to Shane Watson.

This is a transition, not a farewell.

Bill will remain the NCD national partner in the UK, while Shane takes on responsibility as the NCD national partner in Canada. Together they will support denominational leaders, churches, coaches, and companions in their respective areas of leadership. Bill will also carry on his Restorative Practice work in both Canada and the UK through Fordelm.

Bill and Shane will also collaborate on shared NCD initiatives. In addition, through their involvement with NCD International, they will contribute to the development of NCD globally.

At the heart of this transition is a shared commitment to helping churches—and the people who are part of them—better understand their health, recognize where God is already at work, and identify opportunities for growth and wholeness.
