Welcome to the site of Natural Church Development (NCD) in Canada

The NCD paradigm and growth principles never change, but the tools and resources to help people, groups and congregations apply the principles are constantly evolving! In 2012 we introduced two new books in the 3 Color Discipleship Series, The 3 Colors of Community and The 3 Colors of Leadership. Along with these were the corresponding online 3 Color Tests: the Communal Test and the Empowerment Test. The most popular NCD Test ever, the 3 Color Gift Test, is now online as well, and the Detailed version of the Empowerment Test will be coming next. We also introduced the NCD Result Guides in 2012 after piloting them in over 100 churches in Canada, and with our counterparts in Australia in 2011. These new Guides, now commonly known as the NRGs – and we hope they do produce EN-ER-GY – are effectively the third generation of reporting in NCD. If you’re familiar with the old ProfilePlus report, it has been replaced by the Status Guide and is included in the suite of NRGs along with the Summary Guide, the Story Guide and the Strategy Guide. We will be adding root-cause analysis and planning tools to the Strategy Guide over the summer, and will be updating the Cycle Manual to reflect the change to these new Guides. The Cycle doesn’t change – but the Cycle Manual will.

Finally, we have introduced a new, and almost instantaneous, approach to producing the Guides. You now need an NCD Church Survey account to process the results of your Survey. The first step is to request an account be opened. If you are going to conduct your Survey within the next two or three weeks, we’ll go ahead and issue the Tokens you’ll need, one for creating the profile, and one for creating the NRGs. You don’t have to wait for the reports any longer, they’re ready at your finger-tips! Plus, this new online system is the precursor to the online Survey which should be available later in 2013! We’ll still keep the paper-based Survey-Form, but the online version has been awaited for a long time.

NCD is not a tool and it is not a program. It’s a series of organic, growth principles that we see in Scriptures, in nature, and when we look at healthy, growing churches across the globe. We hope the tools, books, tests and other resources will help you, your group or your congregation apply the principles, or live into them. Over 85,000 NCD Surveys have been conducted in churches of all denominations, theological and liturgical types. The growth principles apply to any living organism, be it a tree, a human, or a congregation.
